International Day of Human Space Flight on RT
For the special edition, the RT team created an XR scene with the effect of open space - with graphics integration right in the studio.
It is based on Carrot XR.
"The main task was to convey the scale of outer space and visualize the beauty of the planet. XR technology has provided seamless integration of the LED screen and superimposed AR graphics without using chromakey," - Roman Nikitin, Head of the 3D Graphics and Special Effects Department at RT.
Synchronization with the camera and the mask system add depth to the scene, shadows, and the correct interaction of graphics with the real studio.
The result is a complete picture, with no sense of where the studio ends and the graphics begin.
